Ten things people ask

Tap a question to open it.

Do I need nursery experience?

Yes. We look for at least two years in a nursery management role, such as manager or deputy. If that is not you, a business partner going in with you can bring it.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the area and the building. We share the full figures, fees and what to expect in the information pack, after our first call.

I have the experience but not the money. Can you help?

Possibly. We know investors who back nurseries where the person running it has real nursery experience and a share in the business. If that sounds like you, tell us on the form. Every introduction depends on the right match, so we cannot promise one, and we talk it through with you first.

Can I choose where to open?

Yes. Tell us the area you have in mind and we will look at it with you, including families, demand and other nurseries nearby.

Do you help find premises?

Yes. We help you judge the area and the building, and work through layout, planning and registration with you.

Who registers with Ofsted?

Your nursery is registered in your own name, as the provider. We guide you through it and help you get ready for your first inspection.

Will my nursery take funded hours?

Yes. Every Mi nursery takes funded hours, and we show you how to work with your local authority.

How much will I be involved?

A lot, especially at first. Our best nurseries have an owner or manager on site and close to families every day.

I already run a nursery. Can it become a Mi nursery?

Talk to us. Tell us about your setting on the form and we will look at it with you.

What happens after I register?

We read every form and reply within five working days. If it looks like a fit, we arrange an informal call.
